Winter Informal 2012

All of our dancers have been learning 2 dance routines in prep for our Winter Informal Dance show.
They have been working very hard week after week trying to get those difficult steps and to remember "what comes next?".  A few of our classes have already had a chance to show off their skills at Oak Terrace Assisted Living while other dancers anxiously wait their turn this coming Saturday.
We had some nervous tears shed at our first performance and a few others who opted to "just watch".

Homemade stage decorations are well underway!  Along with creating a show program for the audience, rounding up volunteers to help with the show and lining up all necessary details, Whitney and Lori have decided to add  "Make stage decorations" to the To Do list this year.  So far, they aren't looking too bad!

What I love about informal?  Not only does it allow our parents & dancers to pick and choose what they want to wear but also how much they want to spend. Plus the festive reds and bright greens that our dancers wear accompanied with Christmas music really gets me in the mood for the holidays and spending time with family.

Hard to believe our 3rd season in that we would already be throwing around the idea of having two seperate shows.  We have grown enormously in the past 3 months and are now expecting our Winter Informal to last approximately an hour and a half, if not longer.  We have 12 different groups of dancers and almost all of them will have the chance to perform twice.

With the show being just one week away, the excitement and the nerves of "dancing on a real stage" has been seen in the dance room.  "What if the other dancers forget the steps?"  "I'm going to be to nervous!"
But after its all said and done...Everyone will have had a blast!  and you never know....Santa might even stop by!
